I don't understand why she beats herself up everytime after having sex with him. He's her husband. She's pregnant (by him). They've been having sex together for over a year. Where is this anger at herself coming from? Am I missing something?

Now he's employing the strategy of giving her orgasms, a strategy I highly approve of and think he should have started employing about fifty pages ago.

Cracks me up how the author has to say "chocolate sandwich cookies with the vanilla cream centers" instead of "Oreos" every single time.

I don't know if this is a Texas thing, but they are strongly implying she needs to be married to be a valuable employee. Pretty sure this is illegal? Not sure what her marital status has to do with her being able to do a job?

She keeps wearing his clothing.

Given how insistent she is on making this marriage contract, she actually has zero domestic skills. You think he'd be more insistent on 'splitting the chores equally' since she doesn't do diddly-squat.

Now she wants him to touch and sex her and feels resentful he doesn't even though she pushes him away every chance she gets. Baffling.

Her days of trying to win a man's respect were over. He either gave it to her or he didn't.

This woman is driving me insane. I don't know how he deals with this.

"Well, I have to hand it to you," Rand told Ginger an hour later, after they had returned to the Red Sage guest ranch, said good-night to the moms and retired to their "honeymoon" cottage. "You took mild parental concern to DEFCON levels of wariness, in a flash."

She actually thinks she's never going to have sex with him again. It's RIDICULOUS, not to mention completely baffling. This woman makes no sense.

"To be truly effective, our marriage contract should cover who is going to cook, or do laundry. Or, maybe we each should be on our own for these types of mundane chores." ...

"The bylaws or marriage contract should also cover where we live. How many days and nights we can be apart at one time - or not be apart, as the case may be."

This sounds HORRIBLE. Instead of adding to this, he should be putting on the

I just don't understand this woman at all. She fights him so hard. She's been sleeping with him for a year, she's pregnant by him, they are married now. She knows basically nothing about him and is determined to be the most prickly, contrary person she can be. It's baffling. And she keeps saying she's never sleeping with him again?!?!?!

They are both shocked to realize each other has a previous marriage. It's a second marriage for both of them.

Belatedly she realized she didn't know much about Rand, except how he felt about the environment and how great he was in bed. He knew very little about her, as well.

Ginger planted her hands on her hips, aware they were on the verge of yet another of their famously passionate arguments.

"So this isn't just about the baby. It's about oil, too?"

Ginger nodded, as ready to be totally upfront about that as everything else.
