Author does a good job with facts. But a poor job with bias. I get that Edsel Ford was a good guy. You don’t need to polish the halo every page.

I’m getting tired of the “nobody knew how bad Hitler was” excuse. Plenty of people knew. Rich antisemites like Henry Ford and Lindbergh were not naive lambs, they were backing Hitler because they thought he would win.

Author absolutely incorrect when he asserts:
“Hitler was clearly a dangerous man. But who knew, in 1938, that he would prove to be the most demonic figure of the twentieth century? No one at the time.”
Plenty of people knew. This is after Munich. Author is wrong and is giving the Ford’s an easy out.

The history of Ford dealer ship, the family and the history of Detroit is something I didn’t know and so good to read. This book is definitely a history fav!
