Status Updates From Lila

30 pages left jm sad, i really liked Lila’s story and i liked getting to know her and her thoughts. I have to go to work but the baby is about to be born!!

All this bitch does is think about her past she just like me 😊 and how it affects her today and why she doesn’t deserve good things 😊

I just love how these stories are written. Just passing thought after passing thought, interspersed with all the memories and things we think about ourselves. And then we’re transported into the present sometimes seamlessly from our past thoughts.

“You pick up something belonging to somebody and feel for a minute how theirs it is, particularly if you hate them enough. But a whole roomful of somebody’s days and thoughts and breath, things that are faded and they don’t see it, ugly and they don’t care, things worn by their habits, it seems strange to walk in in that when you’re almost nothing more than a cold wind.”

Old John Ames is a good man!

Man I love this book and series so much. Last week I was finishing up the 2nd one at work and now I’m making my way through this one. Beautiful story. Beautiful thoughts! Sad thoughts about the world, and how it keeps going no matter who needs help and what happens to them.

I feel so elated because i finally have a physical book of this to read. I'm currently burrying myself in Marilynne Robinson's prose and I am loving every second of it. Lila is now finally opening my eyes to the other point of view of Gilead.
