Cassie is the only one in her family without powers so she decides to open up a normal detective agency but the work she has been asked to do may not be as easy as first thought and also, is Evan Blackwood friend or foe?
Really enjoyed this book and now wanting to read the next one in the series to find out more of what happens as feel left hanging.
Would highly recommend it though

Shitty move by Cassie's parents. Of course there will probably be some handy reason where it was all for the best or for her benefit or something and I will have to stop being mad before I'm ready to stop being mad.

Not used to a big emotion inducing misunderstanding to happen between a heroine and her parents. Normally it's the hero causing all the problems.

Not too sure whats going on a lot with this book. Evan is pretty cool I like the character. I feel sorry for her not having any powers but I'm waiting for something significant to happen...

"So, is he seeing anyone?" Kaitlin asked . . .
"Jason? Not that I know of, but you don't want to get involved with him. He never stays in the same place long, and he's in a high mortality profession."
That seemed to be exactly the wrong thing to say, because Kaitlin's eyes grew suddenly dreamy.
LOL. Okay, so this book is a LOT better than I thought it would be . . .

The magical world is full of symbols, many of them culturally conceived, but powerful nonetheless. Colors had meanings. Each type of flower had meanings. Together, the red and the roses meant passion, romantic love, and even fertility. The note may have read I'm sorry, but the roses said, oh, and by the way, I'm interested in sex and babies.

I feel bad. She's fantasizing, and she is a good writer.

she's a kid starting her first business, with her first customer after months and she's driving a jaguar...well alrighty then. I don't care if your parents are rich or not- driving a jag when you are not even out of the house and you have 7 siblings? not buying it. she writes gud other than inconsistencies like that, but give me a break with your jags and castle shaped houses decorated in top notch classless.
