[It has become accepted and stamped into lengths by "Eight Men Out" as fact that the '19 White Sox were paid miserably by owner Ch. Comiskey, yet Sox players players did not earn less then what you would expect. The story of him refusing to let Cicotte win 30 because he would earn a bonus sounds invented. The previous year CC surprised him with a 3k loyalty bonus top of his 10k salary.]
