Status Updates From Whiplash (Whiplash #1)

This is very well written, but it's not romantic yet. It's the horrific account of everything this poor woman named Lily had to endure as a slave. It's sad, but I'm sure I'll read the 2nd book. Hoping for a HEA.

Beau is good, Julian bad... why must all the women go for the bad guy... wait there really isn't a choice is there?

I like to support TX authors so giving this a go. Emotional beginning, let's see if it's worth my tears.

This book was well written and remarkable. It is a must read! The author did a good job in describing her characters and the location, time and setting was excellent and allowed the reader to stay in tuned with the story line. Excellent my friend!

The violence is graphic and undoubtedly authentic, making the characters subjected to it more sympathetic. But the pacing is so fast in the beginning, jumping years and places, that I can't connect to the protagonist beyond sympathy, though the author certainly makes me want to. Also, the interplay between Lily & Julian is both intriguing and disturbing; & I have small questions about historical accuracy.
