This is when the author and her husband finally hear about Reactive Attachment Disorder for the first time from another person in Russia to adopt. These children have a hard time bonding or attaching because they spent their early months and years in orphanages.

It's hard to have empathy for the narrator but the insights about how to recognize RAD are great. She is a great writer and I appreciate her realness and truthful thoughts. It feels like she's spilling her guts not giving practiced textbook explainations. I'm hoping for the family life to get better but I'm not sure it will. It's a little depressing.
