steinbeck has taken ahold of my brain in ways i haven’t felt since reading joan didion or arundhati roy. i am desperate to read everything he’s ever written and simultaneously thrilled there is so much of it left for me to explore. reading this while saving east of eden for an upcoming trip to california for the immersive experience
