Oh my goodness. The voice in these is frickin delightful. "You know how much oil is in fish liver. There was enough oil in the Stoor Worm to solve energy requirements forever." The author writes like he talks and I LOVE IT!!!

The introduction is super promising. Muir truly loves Orkney. The way he writes you feel like you happened upon a new friend. And I'm happy to meet another little freak who overcame something undiagnosed, didn't exactly thrive in school, and became a folklorist. I also like that he tells us about Orkney's history first. I think that's very important in folklore.
