Look, I think Marcus Aurelius is cool, but man, this book is kinda boring.

Read the final chapter, "The Setting Sun". I wish there was another chapter about Marcus' health issues, his poor health is referenced throughout the book but never in detail. I would also like a chapter on Commodus' upbringing. How can such a just and kind emperor be succeeded by such a cruel, tyrannical chud? I also would have liked a chapter about Marcus' other (lost) work, the Exhortations .

Read the next chapter, "The Antonine Plague". No mention of Lucius yet, I hope his foid ass gets murked. The switch from talking about the plague to Aurelius' relations with the Christians is quite abrupt. I would like for a full chapter on this though. The quality of writing for this is frankly not great. It's decently well written, but I expect far better from a Yale-published book.

Read chapter eleven, Parthicus Maximus. I hate Lucius he's the o.g. Donald Trump Bumbling idiot who mishandles a military campaign because he's to busy diddling little boys and partying to actually run the war while calling himself the greatest person to exist. He's such a chud I'm glad he brought a plague back I hope he dies from it.
