My final reading for the June on the Range reading event for this year that encourages reading Westerns. I’ve just read the story The Extermination of Yellow Donory. It’s quite a sad story knowing that REH committed suicide by shooting himself. I’m not sure when this was written, but he seemed to know the thought processes of someone who was planning to do this. 2 poems followed which were more light hearted.

Now finished the first story ‘Dreams of the Sunset’ and the two poems immediately after, ‘The Lost San Saba Mine’ and ‘John Ringold’.
They gave a great flavour for what I imagine I’m in store for the rest of the collection. The story was easy reading, with a plot to keep me interested and characters that had depth and personality. The poems went over my head slightly. But still glad I’ve read them.

I just finished reading 'Boot Hill Pay-Off' another enjoyable story for 'June On The Range', an on going Booktube event. I'm taking a break from Western stories for a while as there's other stories calling.
