All of the races have gathered successfully in time for the war. The fiends are quickly gaining ground, despite Braon's best efforts. This story is in the genre of fantasy, it contains large amounts of magic, dragons, demons, etc.

All of the races have gathered successfully in time for the war. The fiends are quickly gaining ground, despite Braon's best efforts. This story is in the genre of fantasy, it contains large amounts of magic, dragons, demons, etc.

In the novel, Braon is going over the defensive formations with the leader of the Druids, Newhawk. Braon also asks Newhawk to be the "face of the command", meaning everyone will essentially think Newhawk is commanding them, when 15 year old Braon will be telling him what to do. The title of this book is a good one, it accurately describes what is happening throughout the book.

In the story, Braon is getting accustomed to the defenses of the elven city of Azertorn. After the Oracle left the city, he was left in charge of the strategy necessary to defend the city. A character worth describing would be the thief, Jack Myst. Although he is thrown into terrible situations, he has always been the most humorous character in the story by creating opportunities for laughter at every oppurtunity.
