As John thinks how lucky he is to have Kit, Ellie mourns her lost love.

E also worries what John will do… His plan does in fact save her!
And pulls another one over on the First.

John smugly calls out his hat-trick to the First and Ellie thinks she just may like her new home.

John shares his new plan with Ellie. She agrees, though it's a crazy one.

The First won’t give up on revenge…

Hellblazer #60 -
Flashback! How Ellie and John met… I definitely didn’t expect that but I thought it was clever.

Though, this being a horror comic, of course that story had to be twisted into something terrible.

The First does not take pleasure in torturing Nergal, who he turned back into a mortal.
His thoughts are all of his own ‘devil’...

Hellblazer #59 -
John feels ‘trapped’ by all of his debts and old scores.

One of those is confirmed to be nipping at his ankles when ‘Ellie’ flees her home and tells John The Devil’s after him!

I skimmed The First parts but I did see that he likes that Lucifer quit ruling Hell. And the 2 replacements ‘don’t have any real power.’

John reminds Ellie she’ll owe him BIG time…

Skipping issues #52-58.

Why, you may ask, do I have these collections if I skip so many issues?

Because I bought these when they were ridiculously cheap and I was naïve about how horror-esk they actually were.

Issue #50 -
Not sure what the flashbacks to John’s life were for, besides filling up pages.

Anyway, the King of the Vampires wanted John to spy on the other mystics.

John vehemently rejects that offer. Which the vamp does NOT like.

He promises John if he doesn’t ‘get’ him, someone will!

Skipped issue #51.

Skipping issues #47-48. It sounds like an alright story but I’m trying to get through as much as I can before the end of the year.

I will come back to read issue #49.
It’s set on Christmas Eve and while I don’t typically go back to read something if I’ve missed it, I will treat it as a ‘flashback’ issue.
