I'm very pleased with the functional explanations and cooking tips. Having bought an electric cooker I'm pleased to see the author compare the simplicity of their use to the stove top models, but perhaps a little disappointed that the he says electric ones don't develop quite enough pressure for canning. Oh well, so I got to skip that chapter and tried red beans as my first dish.
