As soon as I read the ‘Persons of the Play’ and it was all Earls and Ladies and Viscounts I knew I was in for a bad time. 6 pages in and it’s so clear that all these characters love listening to themselves talk, which is to an extent admirable if Wilde’s intention was to write characters that are unbearable

This play is sooo comical so far. I love the women’s roles and conversations
