Issue #5 -
Not sure how I felt about the conclusion to this story.
Morgan had one unsuccessful attempt, will she not try again? Or was that piece of the Seed totally destroyed - that was unspecified.

Usually, I enjoy Spike spin-off stories. This one felt disjointed. No real direction… then again, I suppose that was how Spike himself felt…

The end showed us Spike would be moving into the Angel & Faith series!

Issue #4 -
We see how dedicated Sebastian is to Spike as the ensouled vamp falls for the charms of the courtesan demon, Morgan.

The nearest Hellmouth from Sunnydale (apparently) is on Easter Island!

Did anyone NOT see that ending coming?

Issue #3 -
Pearl and Nash are searching for pieces of the Seed.
In a move that’s unlike the old Spike, he doesn’t even try to engage them! He uses his wits to outsmart them and get away!

Then on his bug ship, Spike and Morgan, the 'not-really-a-Succubus' talk.
Main bug Sebastian’s worried about his master being charmed and wants to protect him…

Felt kinda like a filler ish tbh.

Issue #2 -
So the alien shark pirates do not end up killing Spike (woulda been a short series if they had).
Instead, Spike leads them to the Seed chamber where he manages to escape… with the help of a Succubus(?) named Morgan.

They’re really tryna make me like these space bugs. They just keep doing the right thing by Spike!

At the end, none other than Pearl and Nash come crashing through the roof... yay…

Issue #1 -
Spike is drowning his sorrows, remembering the brief moment where he thought he and Buffy could have a somewhat normal life together.

Honestly, I never got the space alien bugs thing but I have to admit what they attempted to do was nice.

… Until it was interrupted by alien space pirates!

Frisky: We will hide in the jungle and begin construction of a new spacecraft out of bamboo and coconuts.
Spike: stares.
Frisky: That was a joke.

Spike wasn't as angry about that as he should have been. The bugs colonized the Island.

So Sebastian died in a blaze of glory. A suicide run on the ship to keep it steady while the other bugs escaped via bugs, and the ship acted as a missile to blow up the Easter Head Eldtritch monster that Sucky had raised without knowing she can't control them. Thanks Sucky.

Meanwhile Sebastian (head bug) and Frisky etc were plotting a well-intentioned mutiny because they thought Spike was being overwhelmed my succubus charms. But all that insight just helped him get clarity, and realize she's heading to a hellmouth because she must havesome shard of the seed. They fight, she escapes and she's just placed the shard on the hellmouth. And now we're in the part 5...

... is left after Buffy destroyed it (and all the world's source of magic). He meets a succubus already on the hunt, they team up against the reptiles. Then against the Creepy Twins (Angel&Faith live through this), and they both go to find another hellmouth on the Easter Island. She offers her services, very persistently, and then he gives her that speech. And realizes that he's basically the Buffy in this scenario.

So the gist is that Spike is in a funk because pregnant Buffy who he thought he was going to save turned out to be a robot (buffy 9, vol.1). The bugs that crew his space ship and call him Master (still no idea how that happened, we're just rolling with the weird here) try to cheer him up with a fake beach, which somehow ends up with him being kidnapped by a reptile crew, and forced to show them where the Egg/Seed

"I'm not some empty vessel that you can pour all your expectations into. I don't exist just to give you purpose, to be your achievement. I've got my own problems, my own life." .... mmmm, sounds familiar, Spike?
