Okay so normally Native American romances are the WORST, but the hero and heroine actually have a great emotional connection, and the portrayal of the tribes and their relationships and stuff doesn't feel like it's being like, "Ew! Gross! Rapey uncivilized people!" the way 95% of these are. I'm actually enjoying this.

My standards for Native American romances are very low:
1. Don't make the cover model Fabio in a black wig.
2. Don't use the word "Savage" in the title of the book.
So far, this book is killing it.

It's embarassingly obvious how tremendous background research had been put into this book in comparison to the first two as if the author just realised it'd be a good idea to include smh. She should have done this for every book of the series. This book and the first book's plots are readable however the paranormal elements and extended research such as cultural facts done for this book make it extremely enjoyable.

There was a nice forward in this novel about the history of the relationship between the Native Americans and the whites during the time this tale takes place.

This story clearly began in another book so I'm a little lost but I like it so far!
