What a shit first impression.

This book needs to have the “dark romance” completely wiped out of its label and genre.
This was NOT dark romance, or dark, or romance.

It wasn’t even smut or supernatural.

Just utter shit.

I mean, the actual art is totally fine. I don’t hate it.

But the use of it for THIS SHIT book????
Makes no sense.

I’m so annoyed rn.

Another thing I’ve never said before I don’t think… is how ..uncool..this author made all these creatures.

Shifters and werewolves, vamps, gargoyles, fae, angels, death, etc… ugh. What a dumpster fire.

UGH and WHAT is that FUCKING COVER PHOTO????

No where in this fucking shit book is there even a mention of skulls or butterflies is there????

I can’t even recall. Was it the beginning of this book (when it was decent) that the fmc was doing shit like constantly referring to “butterflies in her stomach” or was that another shit fmc???

Usually, even a bad book will have my mind getting inspired to think up and imagine different scenarios and similar stories….bc they’re always just better.

But this shit book… no.

And very luckily, it was so shit that I can EASILY forget it soon. If not by morning.

In this moment, post read, I can say that^

This is one of those shit books I’ve just gotta let loose and shit talk about in a book club type of vibe.

Definitely earned its spot in the nonexistent existing shelf of “WHAT NOT TO DO WHEN WRITING A BOOK”

This would be almost textbook.

Too much shit to gripe about in this book.

I absolutely hate this book with a seething black eyed dead soul passion.

It’s the first time I’m saying this…

If I was forced to… I think I’d happily do a book report on this one shit book. Just to PROPERLY emphasize and explain all the ways this book failed for me.

If ever, there was someone who asked for a shit book recommendation.. it’d be this.

If I was feeling less dead inside and apathetic overall…I’d prob want to do a deeper dive into the whys and hows of this shitty writing.

I only say that bc it’s also the one common thing I always say and think after all books I read, good or bad. It’s that I can learn something or take away something from it to use in my own writing endeavors.

But gods, sometimes, there’s just too much shit like this.

So the pup died twice now.
Idk when or how he came back so I guess it was in the bits I skipped

Bc no one was surprised when he kept showing up again after being fucking burned or whatever.

I’d thought he and the pup were the only decent characters but…this author is just shit at writing them too. Which is saying something. Bc it’s a freaking pup. And yet I could not care less.

Anyways

That entire bullshit about the fmc being essentially brainwashed by demon angel magic every time she looked at him and forgot her brains, was fucking infuriating to read.

Not even knowing she was being FORCED to call him father and ignore all the obvious suffering was enough for me to hate her less. If anything, I hated her more.

So I skimmed and skipped a bunch bc it was still just some godawful writing.

That ENTIRE fucking plot of the fmc not “knowing her true self” was dumb as shit.
This was so poorly written, saying it was confusing would be a compliment.

I’m seriously a bit stressed from how annoying this reading was.

I can’t believe I read most of this shit book for such a shit ending.

Am I surprised? Hell no.
It went to shit after the first chapter I think, and just kept going down the shitter.

That ending was so rushed though I can’t even.

I’d almost prefer it was a cliffhanger

Just so I can say I won’t read the sequel.

So the fmc is the not dead daughter of this ulrich pure douche canoe?

That plot twist would get so fucking lame

The same name the fmc just mentioned

Although …. That’s also fucking weird to be calling your mother by her name like that….

But what really irks me is that entire scene cuts off there and then the next fucking chapter is back to the fmc getting fucked by the vampire for the first time

Like, I DONT FUCKING CARE about any of that bullshit storyline. Ugh

Her and that guy that like her was only mentioned the once.

The mmcs being tortured and raped by the demon angels and the pures is no surprise. It’s underwhelming with that blatant reveal.
Like an info dump I don’t care about.

Bale and Urco are in the veil, that blond guy the fmc talks to just ate them. ????

There’s only a few honest reviews I glanced at just now, bc I really needed my hate for this writing to be validated and commiserated with.

I’m just glad this is the only book so far, idek if it ends with a cliffhanger..

One reviewer said there’s a bunch of tragic backstories…which I’ve yet to see. But they DNFd just over fifty percent of the way through this shit book. I predict I’ll be the same..

This is why I hate this fmc, and basically all the characters…bc the writing is SHIT.

The two who just popped her cherry over and over are making jokes, and she’s being “shy” trying to shower post sex.

Her thought process is embarrassed to even talk about the sexing, and then she THINKS- TO HERSELF?? TO THE READER????

And this chapter forty two where I’m picking back up on…is utterly shit.
It’s her first time having sex and it couldn’t be any less sexy if it tried.
This was just trash.

That tiny smear of hope I had that I’d finally stumbled upon a decent book…quickly dashed away and it’s barely a quarter of the way through.

Nvm I guess it makes some sense bc right before that shit, she was having yet another inner monologue about how bale wasn’t cruel and how nice the wolf made her feel when he fingered her…

I can say next to nothing about these fucking mcs bc all I can recall is they FINGERFUCKED HER and she liked it but hates that she does.

So she’s saying she deserves better than “nice ppl”

Which makes no fucking sense in this context or at all.

Then she’s looking into its eyes, now the same mismatching colors as hers, and she can access “the veil”(??) now..??

So they escape the tower

She’s back at her apartment to hide nova shit or whatever, and then she thinks this line..

“I deserve better than people who aren’t mean..”

??? Am I stupid or is this incorrect????

I’m making a prediction now, maybe the fmc will bring back or resurrect the pup. Maybe bale will die and she’ll bring him back too.
