I am so obsessed with this, I love his writing style, it is so character and setting driven, and I adore it

I am loving this so far, the fact that it’s based in sf is a huge plus, but the writing style is so funny and witty, even though this was written 40 years ago I feel like it’s still current

She was wearing orange slacks that could have protected a road crew at night. (screams '70's) Fast, short chapters. Details with details. Feels like a sit-com of very human, slightly quirky people (aren't we all) that have 60's level free spirit.

Dripping with 70's vernacular and references. Published in '78 so to be expected. Does not sound pretentious though - just 'current', for its classic release date. San Francisco setting/characters feel normal, not stereotyped.
