Interesting and careful final chapter on God & Natural Law.

Finished the original book! Only 65 pages of postscript to go!

Very clear and useful discussion of unjust laws and what Aquinas actually has to say about them.

Will have to go over obligation again. Wish there was a flowchart or something akin.

Solid chapter on law, especially good on the interaction between positive and natural law.

Very interesting chapter on rights - but I think rights talk has proved to be more pernicious than Finnis anticipated, even if rights are not conceptually flaws.

Excellent discussion of communities and the common good.

The different aspects of practical reason are well-articulated. Fidelity to conscience feels like it ought to stand above the other aspects, but conscience can only operate properly when the other aspects are given their proper place, so I think Finnis’ placement of conscience is correct.

Extremely clarifying. Great exposition of how natural law theory has been misconceived or misrepresented by others.

Incredibly rigorous approach.
