Status Updates From The Sending: The Obernewtyn...

Almost halfway through the book and Elspeth is finally going on the quest that the blurb says this book is about. Also I planned to read The red queen straight after this but with how long I have been reading this I can tell that would probably put me into a slump.

I'm always more invested when Rushton appears. I'm hoping he and Elspeth will see each other again after she completes her quest.

I am reading this pretty slowly but I'm not trying to rush through it. Hopefully it won't put me into a slump.

It's gotten a bit better. Rushton returned which always keeps me engaged. His romance with Elspeth is such a subplot but I do enjoy the crumbs of it. However this book is still really slow. I'm waiting for something big to happen but I might have to wait until the middle or the end of the book.

I'm bored 😭. I want something interesting to happen soon because nothing has really happened so far.

I'm starting to notice that this series is repetitive. Elspeth thought of these events as far back as at least book 4, which is two books ago now. I do feel like this series could have been less than seven books, like 5 books. However I am still enjoying this though I don't think it will be a 5 star (I recently discovered that I haven't had a 5 star read since August of last year😭😂).

I randomly felt like realizing this and it will bring me one book closer to finishing the series after almost 10 years of reading it on and off. I'm interested in seeing how Elspeth goes on this adventure. She is definitely an underrated YA character for sure. Also more people need to read this series. It's so underrated.
