It’s been a while since I’ve read a good dystopian, so I was really glad to jump into a new book. I felt a little sick reading the first chapters with the children who died and the fact that Ruby’s parents sent her to a rehabilitation camp. The dynamic between Sam and Ruby is so sad and I can’t believe she’d betray her like that.

It is quite interesting to see the difference between Martin and Ruby. It feels like Martin is more laid-back and is less worried than Ruby as he slept for far longer than Ruby. Also, it seems like Martin is more dangerous and strange than Ruby. As he stared at Ruby, she felt like her powers wanted to emerge and also, Martin wanted to use his powers instead of returning to life. The new character, Cate, intrigues me.
