10 PAGES LEFT AND NOTHING MAKES SENSE 🤬 WHY DID HE GO TO THE SHELTER?!?!

this whole pot has been confusing and messy, and now I'm less than 10 pages from the end of the book, and it is starting to sound like the book "horns" by Joe Hill? I don't know what I just picked up from the library but I'm very disappointed.

All right, no. I can see why Carol left him. Talking about dying, next to your wife who is afraid of flying in an airplane, while you are both on an airplane, it's completely disrespectful. This guy has no emotions.

It's unbelievable that he would get all the way to being in the bedroom of a domestic abuse shelter, realize that he is wrong for falsely dressing up as a woman going there, just because he has a bruise from a fight with a hobo in a theater. 😡

Why is he at the shelter, and what does this have to do with Elaine, and the Truck guy?

The book is finally building some anticipation of climax, but I'm so close to the end. :( this book could have been longer, but I will see if my final judgment for the end.

Please tell me he is not about to go into a domestic abuse shelter dressed up as a woman?

Am I supposed to like this dude? From groping a woman (COWORKER) on the first date, to this constant reflection of "am I good, and my bad?" Like I don't know if I like this protagonist. I'm not sure if the main character is a protagonist, he's just the main character.

He does like asshole-ish type stuff and then says "I'm assuming the other party will understand. I'm in the right" like I really don't understand.

There have been two errors in the book where he described the date as the wrong date. Or repeating the fact that he named the secretary in his book after his coworker. I don't know, it feels like this book could have been proofread one more time.

GET OVER YOUR EX. Maybe I have thought about rekindling an old relationship, but I don't buy things planning to give them to them later. It's better to watch yourself in order to heal. I hope he gives the expensive sweater to Elaine.

I understand sessions of distress. Childhood trauma, I've been there. But I'm thinking he's living a different life. I'm not sure where this is going, sleepwalking or trance-like states, but I'm hoping it's an interesting climax. Things are missing, and he does not trust people. What is going on?

Omg the author has an amazing vocabulary. I'm learning new words from reading this. I LOVE when an author describes the scene so well, you can clearly picture IT in your head. I'm a huge fan of super SUPER descriptive scenes.

Just so I can remember where I left off bc I'm reading so many books:
