Status Updates From I Capture the Castle

so far the librarian has dropped off books and is doing an audit of their finances and earning capacity. the latest journal entry is about 4 or 5 thousand words long. the family is broke and has no way to earn money.

this is the journal of a teenage girl who wants to be a writer. unsure if i will like this yet. it feels very fictional as you would never explain, "mother died 8 years ago" in a true diary unless you were expecting it to be read but that's okay. am having to look up unfamiliar phrases like "iron entering soul". the entries are long and fluent and chapter-like, similar to the narrator of 'the sea, the sea'...
