Why would a free spirit just accept being taken away from her mom and all the familiarity of her world. I'm loving more her stories now, specially as she fights with what she considers indignities and humiliations.

I was looking for this type of book, one where we learn about the Native Americans in the period where the white men are just starting their colonies on the continent, as a lifetime would be enough to drastically change all their environment and lifestyle.

The pale man is evil! I like how the images of a childhood as an American Indian feel so fresh and naive. It’s soothing and intriguing to read her day to day activities in what for us is a long lost lifestyle
