I love when Wu Xie and i think the same. Like who does Uncle Three think he's fooling? If CWJ sent tapes to him, ZQL, and Wu Xie... then this matter literally has something to do with WX too. Only UT and ZQL knew CWJ - she and WX have no relationship, so WHY send him the tapes too if he's apparently not involved? And just when I thought it, WX also called him out and said "so why send me the tapes" EXACTLYYYY

it literally drives me up the wall discovering that such a tense section of the book that had me Absorbed WAS DICED TO FUCKING PIECES FOR NO GOOD REASON.

the fact that the whole quagmire graveyard, miasma, save pangzi while being dragged down into the underground water system of an ancient city and fighting off coxcomb snakes was so intense and then the official translation cut 90% of it out.... WHO WAS IN CHARGE OF THIS PROJECT??? 3 itty bitty chapters in the english print vs 11 in the fantranslation (creating breaks where the chinese version does btw) - HELLO???

I still can't get over that I was SCREAAMMINGGG at the page when they ditched their gas masks in the last book bc I remembered they said the forest could have miasma, then later Wu Xie worries about toxic fog and tries to find a gas mask in the abandoned camp bc they left their's behind. LIKE YEAH YOU NEED THOSE. and his worries were brushed off!! BUT LOOK AT THAT WX AND I WERE RIGHT THEY NEEDED THEM HERE

this arc from books 5 and 6 is definitely one of the strongest ones of the series, but it was also refreshing to turn on ultimate note today and watch the drama's take on the arc. the way the show develops character relationships and actually respects women like wowzah. so nice. not a lot of girls in this book series, but when they're there... the fact that the series is written by a man shines through a bit...

the queen of the west's lands are putting wu xie and co through hellllll - but at least xiao ge is back!
