When coming to a thematic point, Bradbury goes nowhere quickly. He paints with words, builds the world, and eases the reader into the experience. Yet, when he arrives at his points, his reasons for writing, he drives home ideas so profound that I become saddened others are missing out on his insights and yet grateful I have the opportunity to hear and consider them for myself. I’m loving this book!

Rarely do I enter a bookstore without a clue about what I’m looking for. This was, however, a rare impulse-buy.
What a difference from modern fiction. So far, 16 chapters in and little has happened, but I’m already captivated by the prose. Jim’s dialogue with his mother packed a punch:
