mmm it was going pretty good until it made no sense. Kate is the ultimate shrew. Somebody take the gun away from her. THE BLACK DUKE as he is called has good intentions most of the time. But has a mistress randomly show up when he should be romancing bitchy Kate. Sad I cannot remember if he has a real name other than the moniker.

Recommended to me by my Mother. She doesn't do audiobooks, so when she recommends a book to me, I always like to see if I can listen to it. Luckily, our library participates in the Hoopla platform.
I really enjoyed the listen of this title. Everything from the time setting, variations of the voice in narrative and the storyline all blended in for an interesting tale.

Kate acts like a child way too much for me to really love her. And while a lot of the time I like Nick, he was just such an ass. Feels are mixed about this one.
