"His face not two feet from mine, my son Théophile sits patiently waiting—and I, his father, have lost the simple right to ruffle his bristly hair, clasp his downy neck, hug his small, lithe, warm body tight against me. There are no words to express it. My condition is monstrous, iniquitous, revolting, horrible. Suddenly I can take no more."

A man has a stroke and survives, very unluckily, with Locked-In syndrome.
He is completely paralyzed. Yet he wrote this book with the blinking of a thousand rime of his left eye.
In this book you see the world through his eyes, feel his emotions.
He dies 2 days after it was published..
Book is tragic, short, and changes your perspective. I'm not halfway in the book, and I think I'll think of this for a long time.
