This feels kind of plotless. It seems to run on its "comedy" and Frank's antics.

Hmmm well this is a very juvenile book. Why must Frank have so many awkward scenes with Martha?
(Is it to develop some relationship? Because if so it almost doesn't make sense to me.)

Ah yes. Let's get the Parrish in training drunk before he starts his duties as a Catholic Priest in Florida. And of course feed him spicy food that he wasn't quite ready for.

*Looks at Bill with a look of uncertainty*

Poor Francis. The US can be kind of silly with how they do Immigration laws and checks. Even I find some of it silly.

But I guess maybe more hilarity and ridiculousness will ensue.

The book is getting better

This is beginning to get rediculous. Women do not behave this way in real life, it's just ego porn, and it's gross. NOBODY openly propositions someone at a funeral for their own relative, especially when that person is the priest. "Women are either nasty whores or unfuckable matrons, and I'm going to fix it all with jesus." Gross.

Father Frank is a wonderfully funny character, but the author writes him as if he's never seen a woman anywhere in his life, ever. In fact, I'm not too keen on the way women are written about, anywhere, in here. Things might get nasty from a critical feminist viewpoint; the author is quite ready to make every woman seem either patronizing and stupid or a bimbo attempting to be a seductress. Yikes.
