Can we stop describing characters as their nationality / ethnicity because we’re worried the readers might forget we have some slight diversity in our book?
“The Brazilian had ditched the flag”
WHAT
don’t have current examples but this happens to often for it to not be weird as fuck

Forgot to add this — how does the author expect me to follow and remember THIS MANY characters. It could be excused as the reading being as clueless as Jess, but it’s still really not an excuse. Like I don’t follow superpowers and names because there’s too fucking many of those bro 💔💔💔

Zoe seems like my type of character. I still don’t rly like Jess mostly because I find his repetition of stupidity really annoying 😭 like how can you keep on asking the same thing over and over again and not end up needing healing?

Jess really needs to know what boundaries are. If I were one of the supers I would’ve beat his ass long ago for all those repeated questions and insistence of fighting back.

It’s incredibly clear the author has no idea how to write race diversity and he’s trying desperately to do so, which I guess is better than nothing. You don’t have to mention someone’s race or ethnicity every time they’re brought up (cough cough Hannah)
Also Jess is kinda stupid 💔💔💔

Only now did I realize this was on here. I really liked the book at first and I am still enjoying it to a degree but I’m slowly getting underwhelmed. Too many blonde characters to a point where I feel like this man likes aryan people a little too much. Also, very if almost no diversity name wise. Even POC or none American characters have very white American sounding names. Other than that, pretty cool.
