Even the cover photo of this book rn on this Goodreads app as I make these notes, have begun to make me upset.

I was going to be generous and give this two stars. But now, I’m prob going to give it one.

Just so I never try this author ever again.
This once was a shitty enough experience.

This is like the third or fourth time travel book on my list that sucked ass.

It really feels like I am looking for a diamond book that clicks all the boxes, in a valley of shit.

I can understand this series and this author came from a time not too long ago where these types of trashy romance novels were so popular…

But it’s 2024 as I read this, and it was def trash.

What a wasted potential to not write a story for the magical mother and daughter who travels to the future

Or even the new knight who immediately begs for his king to wed the pretty young Rosalind.

Did I mention the cringey photo cover
It looks NOTHING like the how the fmc was described

Even that much, I hardly know what she does look like apart from her pale skin and red hair.

It’s not even short on the cover like the actual book descriptions

She’s never mentioned to wearing that blue dress with the side leg slip

I could keep going…

The only time I enjoyed this mmc was when he was blubbering and crying bc of the fmc on her deathbed. And her being alive after her surgery.

I liked the fmc when she was forced to work around the castle/manor whatever. And when she was cooking and helping.

That’s it.

Their relationship was unbelievable for me
Their love for each other was rushed until the very end

I will gladly forget these two soon

The blurbs for the rest of the books in this series are not it.

Not surprising, given how long ago these were published.

I even checked the rest of this series, bc I had half a mind to read more…solely for any side characters mentioned in this book

But the only one I recognize was Royce.
And all I recall of his scenes, were him being hypnotized to sleep by a little girl. And another mention of his help off screen.

Yawn.

I guess I was half right about the fmc being on her deathbed needing to return home bc of her bullet wound

Chapter twenty two now
Seems it’s starting with the fmc telling him about future shit

And a chapter or so before this, the fmc actually went and convinced this Rosalind character to wait for her mmc

This is so fucking stupid

^ AND THEN

No doubt this stupid as shit mmc will blame the fmc again

I can’t even rn
I’m so over this shit

The sex scenes aren’t even good.

Also that one chapter with Yolanda and what’s her face finding a mysterious trunk full of Celine’s future crap was such a stupid tease.

My face feels like it’s stuck in an expression of disgust

These fucking idiots.

I cannot stand when lust and sex is used as an excuse to muddy the mind

It completely makes these characters WEAK WILLED.

I didn’t hate the fmc before
But I def do now

I absolutely blame her for giving in to sex when everyone fucking knows they’re all even more fucked if and when their marriage is consummated

The only way my mood can improve is if this fmc and her bullet wound eventually starts killing her

Making the mmc have to believe her

Taking her back to where she came from, put the teddy back on, practically on her death bed, and whisk off to the future

The way this story has been going he just made my blood boil

Worst plot twists ever

11/10 would not live in this world

I’m pretty sure they’re finally about to actually fuck each other

But I’ve been over this story a dozen or so chapters ago

I’m not invested in the mcs relationship at all

I’d rather read more about the time traveling nonsense

This is an infuriating read
And I hate this mmc
He’s disgusting.
This authors’ attempt at making him attractive and so great-just failed for me.

I really hope this is the time traveling romance I’ve been wanting to read

I hope it drags my ass out of the reading slump I’ve been stuck in

And it seems strange for this to be the only book in this series to be about time travel… compared to the others too

Well I finished the book… It was an OK book. I kind of dragged on and on. It was definitely not erotic per se. But I’m going to read the others in the series. I think I’ll give it 3 stars.

I think it’s a great storyline… But Gaston is such an asshole. I find it hard to understand why Salinas not have a back bone and puts up with the way the Gaston treats her. I sure hope it gets better… We’ll see
