finished "Amnesty". Again, interesting and well-executed. I liked how the story rationalizes Noah and why she chose to work with the Communities after everything she's been thru. A nice story on the illusion of choice, & how evil humanity can be by any means necessary. I liked the characters here. People with different personalities all flowing in conversation. It's like I was watching something from a movie. 7/10

“Crossover” done. Neat little character study. Nothing too crazy, decent.

WE ARE SO BACK! Just finished "Speech Sounds" and oh my god was this a ride. This really took me back to when I read "Parable of the Sower" for the first time. Reading about a world that seems so hopeless, so empty, but you keep pressing on anyway. Great short story! Paced well, executed well. 2nd best story here. Like an 8/10. I still like Bloodchild more but to be fair that one's insane lmao

finished 3rd story, "Near of Kin". well executed. short and interesting exploration of a certain kind of relationship and the MC coming to terms with it. 6/10, maybe 7/10? i'm glad that this was as short as it was. even though she could've made it longer, there was only so much you can do with this. Very open-minded writing

Second story was fine. Not bad, like a 3/5. Could've gone without it tho. As is the nature with short story collections, some will be amazing while others will be just okay
