Charley is do insecure and lord she's clumsy. Raphael has had to save her from about 4 mishaps already, and I'm only 45% into the book. Her parents careless words about her clumsiness and being a tomboy has really instilled a sense of worthlessness in Charley. It is painful to see her insecurities play out in front of Raphael.
