underestimated how enjoyable darwin's life as a narrative story would be. his intellectual journey is more gripping than the beagle voyage itself, in my opinion. browne does a remarkable job capturing the excitement of darwin uniting all of his observations and studies across disciplines that led him to his natural selection theory.
