This is what I was missing from the other books. There is so much more insight into who Penelope is and what she thinks and feels and wants and everyone is allowed to be morally grey and not entirely bad or entirely right and that is what I wanted. This is so much better than the other two books.

This is by far the book I enjoy the most. Every character (no matter if woman or men) are allowed to be three dimensional, to be more than just good or bad. All of them have depth and sorrow and pain and handle it differently, with violence, with anger, with sorrow, with grief, with regret. I appreciate that. It is what was missing from the other books.

I do really like Athenas narration actually. I am a little annoyed that the notion of virgin goddesses are broken down to simply "power" when culturally it was seen as so much more. Also I still wish that Penelope and Odysseus would have love for each other. Their relationship could (and should) still be complicated even if there is love.
But all in all, i like it more than the second part so far.
