Terrific essay on the Inklings, deftly navigating the shoals of the many scholarly book attempting to state definitively when the Inklings Bega, and what they were (dynamics, influence, etc)

Meant to sample an essay or two last night and ended up reading a third of the book. The essay on "Top Ten Rejected Plot Twists from THE LORD OF THE RINGS alone was worth the price of admission, with a quotation from another work that I recognized immediately, and had me falling off my chair laughing. I always enjoyed David Bratman's style when giving papers. Erudite without being stuffy. This is a treasure.
