Love how this book shows just how wrapped up you can be while healing or figuring yourself out. While reading carter and Travis book I was so happy they were figuring themselves out and didn’t question anything else but in Casey’s pov you see how unaware Carter is. Not bad cause he’s working on himself but shows how Casey avoids his own healing too

My goodness. Hammel is so good bc what do you mean seeing Travis (Nathan) in action from Jake’s perspective makes me hate him. It just shows how good Nathan was at acting or unreliable narrative but the writing is just so good. The way it twists my thoughts

Jake’s perspective if kinda making me hate Travis :(. Just seemed like he did nothing but make Jake’s life difficult which wasn’t intentional but Jake was doing everything while Travis was a figurehead

1. Travis is icky.
2. There’s no good reason that Casey shouldn’t be able to see his father and keep in touch with the safe house team.
3. Why are they keeping the victims in the same house where they can run into their leaders (who r*ped some of them)?!
