Laughing so hard because it’s 2059 and the main character doesn’t know what the word concubine means (and for some reason it’s not in the dictionary when she checks) but knows what a rat king is 🤣

I was sooooo confused when I first started this but am finally feeling at grips with the world. Shannon has crafted such a complex world which is a unique blend of sci-fi feeling dystopia and fantasy unlike anything I've ever read.

I love the world building but I really am not enjoying the romance. It’s just a bad trope, the whole enemy to lovers especially when he seems to be 200 years older than her. Just like TOG, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Hopefully we see less romance.

This is literally so good! I think it gives me the same vibes I got reading throne of glass and six of crows. Not to say it is like any of them but that vibe of diving into a well constructed world with so much lore. I love it and this might be another five stars from me
