Status Updates From The Balter of Ashton Harper

These first few chapters are full of what seem (to adult-me) obtrusive anachronisms (e.g. a country "assembly" dance would not ever have had a "caller") or to trip over my pet peeves (if verse is presented as the lyrics of a "waltz", its rhythm should be at least close to dactylic) ... but I keep reminding myself that at the age the author is *now*, *I* would not have known any better or been able to do any better.

I think I found a fictional version of myself and his name is Ashton. 🤣 I didn't expect to be called out so hard by a fictional character but here we are ✨️
