Status Updates From The Gathering

This is really quite tense. Sneaking into a room and nearly getting caught is one of the scariest scenes for me, it always gets my pulse pounding.

I'm getting a The Faculty kind of vibe, but with some kind of ant society dynamic. Also, The Tod (what kind of name is that?!) is being mentioned a lot - they better not do anything to the dog.

This scene should be horrifying and heartwrenching, but the writing is so fucking bad.

This is some of the worst telling instead of showing I’ve read all year.

“Red spots of color”. I’m annoyed. Like yeah, I get what that line is doing, but come on. Editor! Where were you? With all that said, I am enjoying all the stuff about the animals.

There’s a good book trying to break out of here.

I can’t call this book bad. I just wish it was better.
