It’s a damn shame we didn’t get an Abhorash novel. W’soran, who I cared nothing for, I care about now. Abhorash who I rather liked in the Nagash trilogy, would’ve been written wonderfully by Reynolds. But the Old World is dead and so is all the old bloodlines except Neferata’s. I guess Ushoran is in AoS but idk. Onto the next. Whatever that is.

It’s quite interesting how humanized these creatures of the night are. W’soran was never particularly sympathetic but given this book, he’s always been seeking a purpose or power. Interested to see where this goes. Ushoran as well while not physically appearing yet besides in flashback, is sympathetic because of Nagash sinking his mental claws into him. It’s a shame there’s no book 3. I want more Abhorash.

Good so far. The flashbacks while relevant, are often jarring and strange. But as someone who never gave a fuck about W’soran (sorry I’m a Neferata stan), I’m actually interested in continuing with this character.

Josh Reynolds really knows how to bring the characters to life and show you the world in a very descriptive and well written way

Second book in the blood of nagash. This book has a strong start, very detailed and very descriptive.
