We see how Zatara raised Zatanna with magic all her life. The attempts to stop the upside down man are futile. Constantine uses a spell capable of felling a god but fails and is on the verge of death as the entity retaliates. However, Diana awakens a buried power within her that apprehends the upside down man but it only delays the inevitable as there are more truths to uncover.

The band defeat the turned magicians and Diana is frustrated with the lack of answers. They all head to visit Doctor Fate and hopefully get answers from Nabu himself. We find out about the first Lords of Order and how magic first spread across the world. Nabu ends up being the one to let the Otherkind into the world resulting in humanity’s destruction. The upside down man finally appears.
