Status Updates From The Road to the Country

I’m so close to dnf-ing this book. So close.

A shattering, deeply sorrowful read that left me with a heavy heart. It is a visceral, frontlines look at the Biafran War, showing the tragic loss of innocence and how human beauty is systematically stripped away when tribal differences turn into brutal violence. The book subverts expectations in a very painful way. This is a difficult, heavy book to sit with, but it is an incredibly powerful, honest witness to war.
