Status Updates From House of Cotton

I don’t respect the main character… Any of them. And that makes it hard to enjoy this.

Trying to figure out why this book has such low ratings. Many reviewers are clutching their pearls about sex scenes and missing the whole point. Magnolia is a 19 year old biracial woman in the South. Living in poverty and struggling with immense grief. 19 year olds aren’t the best with decision making especially when they need money. I’m loving the weird, morbid plot with Cotton and Eden.
