Status Updates From Never Live Twice

Time to finally get to this, after almost starting it, but not. The Doctor Who book came, and I disappeared into it. Before that, this got bumped - and it’s not as if I haven’t enjoyed Marlowe, or that it will take long! The snubbing is over.

Lots of issues with this. In particular a rape scene early on when the lead character feels he has to -to paraphrase- tame a filly down with a little rough sex including slapping her ass repeatedly. I don’t need that shit.
I despise having to watch in films or read in books rape scenes. It’s pointless and offensive and I’m no goddamn prude.

Starts off like the typical Fawcett-Gold Medal crime thriller/noir: a couple is attempting to murder her drunk of a husband in a car wreck frame-up.
How’s she supposed to know the blow to the head her would-be victim suffers results in his recovering lost memories from his life prior to their marriage?
He’s no longer the dull bloated drunkard he was pre-hospital.
He’s different.
He’s Jackrabbit Smith.
