This book is just so messy and not what Pride and Prejudice is at all… the Mr. Wickham plot line defeats the purpose of his character completely.

DID THIS BOOK REALLY MAKE A JOKE OUT OF THE CHANEL MILLER ASSAULT! WHAT THE ACTUAL HECK!

The fact Preston himself is a Swimmer at Stanford is even worse because Chanel Miller was assault at Stanford by a swimmer!!

Let me point out that in Pride and Prejudice Mr. Wickham takes advantage of not only Lydia but Gerogiana who are both young. Wickhams character is rooted in his power to convince these young women he’s in love with them and use them. This with Wayman feels low stakes and honestly makes me think the author doesn’t understand p&p.

Excuse me that’s the whole Mr. Wickham plot line! What the heck? That takes away from Lydia and the whole point of his character in pride and prejudice. I’m so confused…
