Loved the inner rant Baldini makes about the hectic excitement of man. He’s old himself and sort of done… but he woes in an interesting way what man has need of now as compared to some other age. (When, I wonder?). Suddenly men have need to prove or disprove everything and on and on. P58-62.

Along comes the spider: the abominable nose.

So well written. Baldini. Can craft from already made materials according to tradition and known technique. Nothing wrong with that. But he is jealous of others abilities to go further, and even scoffs at them (internally). He can’t compose nor is he excited about exploring that option nor does he like others that do it or try without going through the training.
