Status Updates From Northern Soul

At just an hour and a half this is a quick audiobook to listen to. It’s such a fun read. Lots of laughs and cringy moments we’ve all been through. Echoes of The Humiliation of Welton Blake. Loved it.

Harv goes over to Carly to say a chat-up line he practised with Otis but ends up saying it wrong in front of Carly and all her friends. He comes up with plan B to write her a song/poem with the help of his friend Jimmy, the son of the teacher everyone hates.

Marv has a crush on the new girl Carly who has moved into the house next door and also goes to his school. Marv does not have a mum so his interaction with females is not great. He listens to his dad's music and realises he likes the loves songs, Otis the singer visits Marv in the middle of the night to advise him on how to move to Carly.
