Maybe I'm just bad at English but I feel like this is on purpose written with a vocabulary that you have to look up in the dictionary constantly because the author wants to sound smart. Idk.

if you write everything as a metaphor or allegory or allusion to something else, the meaning of the text itself simply evaporates. tumblr-esque purple prose unfortunately
